Source: www.importantindia.comReviewed by: Adedoyin Shobo

One day a bone stuck in the throat of a wolf. He tried his best to draw out the bone but he could not. He became restless with pain. He requested many animals to draw the bone out of his throat; but none came to his help.
At last the wolf offered a good reward to any animal that could draw out the bone.
A crane heard this. He came to the wolf and said, “I am ready to help you.”
The wolf said, “Please take out the bone and save my life. I shall give you a nice reward.”
Then the crane thrust his long bill into the throat of the wolf and drew out the bone.
“Now give me my reward,” said the crane.
The wolf said, “What a fool you are! You put your head into the throat of a wolf and you have safely drawn it out. Is that not your reward?” So saying, the wolf went away.

Lesson Learnt: by Dedoyin

Talk down a rogue from the gallows and he will hang you up says a French Proverb.
The story also teaches us to be cautious especially when coming into an agreement of any kind. Be careful of your relationship so as not be at the receiving end (victim).
we must also not be too emotional that you put yourself in harm's way no matter how noble the motive is.

The Little Glass Slipper

Source: www.bedtimestoriesonline.org Reviewed by: Dedoyin There was once a very rich gentleman who lost his wife, and having loved her exceedingly, he was very sorry when she died. Finding himself quite unhappy for her loss, he resolved to marry a second time, thinking by this means he should be as happy as before. Unfortunately, however, the lady he chanced to fix upon was the proudest and most haughty woman ever known; she was always out of humour with every one; nobody could please her, and she returned the civilities of those about her with the most affronting disdain. She had two daughters by a former husband. These she brought up to be proud and idle. Indeed, in temper and behaviour they perfectly resembled their mother; they did not love their books, and would not learn to work; in short they were disliked by everybody. The gentleman on his side too had a daughter, who in sweetness of temper and carriage was the exact likeness of her own mother, whose death he...

The Fox and the Grapes

Source: www.importantindia.com Reviewed by: Dedoyin One day a fox travelled many miles and was very hungry. He looked about for food but found nothing to eat. At last he saw a grapevine on which fine bunches of ripe, black grapes were hanging. The Fox stood up but the grapes were too high above his head. He made several jumps upwards; still the grapes were beyond his reach. When he could not get at them by any means, he turned away. While going away, he tried to console himself saying, “The grapes are sour, and not as ripe as they look!” Lesson Learnt: by Dedoyin In every circumstance, we must learn to look at the positive side. Even in every bad situation, there are some hidden blessings therein. The story teaches us to be grateful for every circumstance we find ourselves, things may have turned out worse.
